Is this really "The Secret"?

Well, I had a chance to watch the DVD of "The Secret" while my computer was getting it's operation from the virus.

For those of you who have watched it, I would like to know what your opinion is.

I found it inspiring although some parts make me wonder a bit.

Check it out for yourself, http://www.thesecret.tv/ and let me know what you think?

Comments are always a good thing :)

Ouch that hurt :(

Well after years of computing I finally got hit with the big one :(

I obtained the pretty virus that looked like a Windows Security Icon :(

If you notice a red sheild with an x in it that you think is a Windows Security sheild whatever you do DON'T and I repeat DON'T click on it. It's a HUGE OUCHY!

I have never seen a virus before but that was not a pretty sight to see as well as the over a week to get my computer back (so ok my computer guy had a few computers to reconfigure and a cash settlement didn't even make him budge any faster).

But I am up and running again and will be back on track real soon with some more great Canadian websites and business for you to visit.

Did you know that March is Juvenile Arthritis Month

Help stop the pain for children living with arthritis. Donate now!

March is Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month. Please make a gift to The Arthritis Society today to support Juvenile Arthritis (JA) research. This debilitating illness affects one of every 1,000 Canadian children under the age of 16, making arthritis one of the most common chronic children's diseases.

Why your support for Juvenile Arthritis research is needed now:
Many children with JA can’t run and play without pain. They may feel lonely and isolated because they can’t join in activities with their friends.

Physical pain, swelling and disability make it difficult to keep up with their school work.
JA is different from arthritis in adults because it causes irregular growth problems, reduced vision, and painful flare-ups that come and go without warning.

Thanks to supporters like you, kids with Juvenile Arthritis can run and play.
At one time, children with JA were confined to hospital beds and discouraged from being active. Thanks to research, treatment options are available today to help these children lead active lives -- much like any other child. But more needs to be done!
Let’s help stop the pain of Juvenile Arthritis.

Your gift is urgently needed to help find breakthroughs for JA. Please give generously to The Arthritis Society Juvenile Arthritis appeal.

Shell Canada New Refinery could bring in an additional 12,000 jobs near Sarnia

This will be a great breakthrough for not only Eastern Canada but the refinery industry.

This is from the London Post:

A proposed refinery for the Sarnia area should substantially boost Ontario's refinery capacity and could ease the tight supply of gasoline, says a Shell Canada official.
Shell Canada has proposed a refinery project with a capacity for refining 150,000-250,000 barrels of heavy oil each day from the Alberta tar sands.
Last month a fire sidelined the Imperial Oil refinery at Nanticoke which normally refines about 118,000 barrels a day. The fire triggered temporary gas shortages in some areas and high prices across the province which still persist.
"The reality is supply is tight in the Ontario region. That's one of the things that makes this project attractive because it would boost the security of supply," said LeighAnne Richardson, communications co-ordinator for Shell Canada.
Ontario now has four refineries -- four in the Sarnia area and one in Nanticoke -- which have a total capacity of 474,000 barrels a day.
That exceeds Ontario's average demand of 372,000 barrels a day but Beth Lau of the National Energy Board said supply is fairy tight since the refineries products other than gasoline and are not always running at capacity.
The new Shell refinery could cost $6 to $8 billion and would be the first new North American refinery in decades. It would be located in St. Clair Township next to the company's existing refinery.
The new facility would be a change since Ontario's existing refineries process lighter oil from Canada's east coast.
Shell Canada has committed $50 million to study feasibility of a new plant near Sarnia but Richardson cautioned the company is considering other options including adding refinery capacity in Alberta.
A public meeting on the proposed St. Clair Township site will be held this month.

Now the gentleman on the news last night said it would take about 12,000 people to build this refinery, which would not only help out the eastern provinces but help out the economy. He also said that they had about 5,000 locals that would do the job but about 7,000 would have to be imported.

All I have to say is GO SHELL GO :)

Missing Children, Do you know where to turn when your child is missing?

I have complied a list of Canadian and American sites that you can go to, to help with looking for your missing and exploited children or people. There are a lot of YouTube PSA's as well. Take a look you might have seen one of these children or people that they are looking for. There are hundreds of thousands of children that go missing every year in the world. Let's try to help get some of them back home, where they belong.

If I can help just one family find their missing child, my efforts will be rewarded. Also notice that I have both Canadian & American Amber Alerts on this blog. Please feel free to use them on your website or blog to help others.

Here is the lens I created on squidoo called "Do you know where your children are?"

In my heart I hope no one ever has to use these links, but in reality, it just might help save a missing person some day.

Do you Squidoo yet?

This is another one of those amazing sites where you can have a lot of fun. Everyone is knowledgeble in something and that is what "lens" are all about. Seth Godin, an expert blogger had come up with this idea.

You pick a topic that you are passionate about and away you write in your lens. They are so easy to make and you can add all sorts of neat things like a guest book, you tube pics, you can make lists and "plexos" (in which people can vote up or down whether they like your selection and you can do the same for them). The nice thing about this site is that you can make some money on it, if people buy the stuff that you think they want. They have an Amazon Plexo and standard, Cafe Press, even itunes to make money from. You can also donate the money you make to charity. As they don't have a lot of Canadian charities, I have choosen to give 10% to their main charity and the rest I can divide among the charities I support.

I made up a few on the organizations and tourist attractions here in Windsor. Check out my main one:

Give it a shot, what have you got to lose except having fun writing about something that you love :)

Vistaprint Canada - Not just business cards anymore

I personally love Vistaprint. You can get what you want, when you want it and they have some awesome specials every month.

I have ordered business cards, postcards and even got free address labels.

They are easy to use, upload your logo and make the business cards that you want for a fraction of the price of your local printers. Shipping is fairly fast. I purchased 2 sets of business cards, one for my friends business and one for mine. Spent the extra money for speedy shipping and got the cards with regular delivery faster than the speedy shipping (which was 7 days). Got mine on the 6th day and my friends on the 7th. So I suggest just going with the regular shipping.

They offer "250 free business cards" and just charge for shipping (which is about $10) but you choose from limited backgrounds. For someone just starting off and not wanting the headaches of a big expense, these cards suit the purpose.

Check it out and let me know what you think :)

Here We Go :)

Well we are off and running to help promote all those fun Canadian sites, stores, business, events and other great things about Canada that you love :)

As this site grows I do encourage you all to send me links that might better serve a great Canadian service that you use that might not be listed on my list.

As I live in Ontario, I would appreciate all that would love to send links from the far west to the far east of this great country.

Small businesses are appreciated and all will be accepted.

From time to time, I will be checking links to try and keep things as up to date as possible, as I can't believe all the links that I go to that are no longer in use or just gone.

Let's make this a fun place for all and keep it clean :)
